Each video clip has a transition icon at the beginning and end. If you move the second video clip, another transition icon appears at the beginning of the clip. When you merge the transition icons by placing the video clips next to each other, the transition effect used in the subsequent video clip is retained.
Click to play the video and click the icon again to pause at the point where you want to trim the video. Click Trim in the Timeline. Start and end markers that define the region for trimming appear on the video clip. Click or to move the start and end trim markers to the current playhead position. You can also click and drag the trim markers left or right to choose the portion of the video clip for trimming.
Objects, such as, text captions or highlight boxes that are within the cross section of the trim markers are also cut along with the video clip. Two separate video clips appear with transition icons.

Show Mouse Click. Displays a quick, small burst of color when the user clicks the slide. You can select a color for the color burst. Select this option to use a SWF file as a visual click effect. Adobe Captivate includes two effects you can use. Test them by clicking the pop-up menu, selecting one, and then clicking Play. View the effect in the small preview window on the right.
To apply the modified properties to multiple mouse points in the video, click and click one of the options. In addition to the mouse actions that you capture while recording the video, you can insert new mouse actions into the video. Click to play the video and click the icon again to pause at the point where you want to insert a mouse action. A pointer appears on the frame at the playhead point. Adobe Captivate plots the mouse position based on the coordinates derived from the previous and the subsequent mouse points.

Click anywhere on stage outside the video to view the Start and End time. See Publish video as an MP4 file for more information. After recording the video, the video appears in the Filmstrip with a webcam symbol, as shown below:.

Recording in this mode can potentially produce large projects and output file sizes due to the large screen resolution on monitors.

This can be produced as a video, where user interaction may not be possible. In the Demo mode, Captivate adds text captions using labels. Assessment: This mode is used to test your learner's understanding of the procedure being demonstrated. You can set scores and the number of attempts of a user in this mode.
When you choose this mode, Captivate adds click boxes and text entry boxes on each mouse click. The Assessment mode includes Click Boxes to make the lesson interactive and Failure Captions to help the user who clicks in the wrong place or performs the wrong step by default. This mode is ideal when teamed with a Demonstration.
Training: This mode involves the learners' simulations. The learners try the steps of the procedure shown in the simulation, and then move to the next slide. If you record a slide in the Training Mode , Captivate adds click boxes based on the mouse clicks, generates text entry boxes, and also provides failure and hint captions to each one. Custom: Use this mode if you need a combination of features available in other modes.
In this mode, Captivate does not add any object by default. Select a panning mode if you want the recording window to follow your movements across the screen. For more information, see Panning. To change the default settings that Adobe Captivate uses when recording, click Settings at the bottom of the recording options.
For more information on customizing recording preferences, see Set recording preferences. Alternatively, on Windows, click the task icon or the system tray icon to stop recording. On Mac, click the dock icon or the status bar icon. You can resize Adobe Captivate projects, even after you have recorded them. Resizing can save you from having to re-record an entire project. Double-click on Adobe Captivate's desktop icon to launch the software, and then head over to Microsft PowerPoint and open the presentation you'd like to record in the second monitor.
Adobe Captivate enables you to capture all animations, objects or multimedia featured in the PowerPoint presentation and it also allows you to record any on-screen activity you want.
Click on the Demo option in the Adobe Captivate's welcome window, and then click on the Create button in the lower right corner of the screen. Select the Application feature and head over to the drop-down menu located directly below it to select the Microsoft PowerPoint application or any other app compatible with the software.
Select the feature that best meets the demands of the project you are working on, and then click on the Panning drop down menu if you would like to add the panning effect to the video recording you are creating.
